Not actually my first post, but i just noticed this area 
Anyway, I live in New York City, and i'm just getting back into biking.
I was seriously into mountain biking when i was in high school and lived in Vancouver, B.C., back in the mid/late '90s. Then my bike spent 5 years hanging up in my parents' basement while i was in college.
This seems like a great forum. I guess i should introduce my bike too, huh?
1993 Specialized Stumpjumper frame (Tange Prestige, made in Japan!), Specialized DirectDrive rigid fork
1994 Alloy Softride stem
1996 Shimano Deore XT parts, mostly, including V-brakes (first year of production)
Control Tech Stix 1 bar ends
Control Tech titanium skewers and bolts
Shimano SPD 737 pedals (the original ones), just got replaced with a pair of EggBeaters.
Anyway, i'm sorely missing the riding in Vancouver. New York City sucks for mountain biking, especially when you don't have a car!!
