Hello!
I started cycling seriously just over a year ago when I bought a Fuji Cross 4.0 for a really good price at my local Performance Bike store. I ran for years, but my knees started to give me problems about five years ago (arthroscopic surgery to the right one), and I was right back to running post recovery. The same knee started bothering me last spring, so I decided that something had to change, and I started to cycle.
I rode 1000 miles last year (actually 1014) - just in temperatures above 50 degrees F, and I was only able to ride 2 -3 times a week because I commute to DC from my home in Northern Maryland. This year I am trying to at least double my mileage, and I am eagerly awaiting my tour of the C&O Canal Towpath that is coming up in two weeks. My longest ride to date is 34 miles, and I did an overnight mini-tour between Baltimore and York, PA a couple of weeks ago where I rode 30 miles up, stayed overnight in a hotel, and rode back the following day.
I just discovered this forum in the past week when looking for suggestions of things to take with me on my tour.
I look forward to participating in this forum.
