Hello folks, my name is John, and I reside in Salem, Oregon (since 1984). I jumped on my first bicycle when I was 5 (no training wheels!) and I haven't been without a bike since then.
I am partial to classic steel road racing bikes. My current bike is a 1983 Trek 760, which is nearly stock, except for the hubs, wheels, and pedals. Although I have the stock Avocet Racing I saddle, I use my Brooks B17.
I used to road race back in my late teens-early 20s, but now I just ride for commuting and pleasure. I am a year-round bike commuter, although I draw the line at snow and black ice!
For comfort cruising, I have a 2008 Bianchi Milano, which has a 3-speed Shimano Nexus hub. Nice bike, but I think I will sell it soon.
