New from Jax
Hi everyone! After suffering through sprint triathlons on a hybrid bike, I finally bought a real road bike and am hooked, even with the @#$% clipless pedals. I'm trying to figure out a way to quit my job so I can ride all the time. I live in Jacksonville, Florida, where the weather is often perfect but the availability of bike lanes is not.

Welcome to BikeForums.
I'll bet that was a sight.
What bike did you get and what kind of pedals do you have? Some pedals are great, some are good, and some aren't worth **** IMHO.
It takes practice learning to clip in and out like a pro.

Ooh, let me tell you, it was ugly, even in the fat-tire division. I had to start pretending that "on your left" was a cheer that spectators used rather than the call of frequent passers. Then my legs were like rubberbands for the run - and then after it was all over, I had to lift the heavy thing into the car!
I got a Fuji Roubaix, and my LBS guy said that eggbeaters would be the best pedals for a beginner, with having four sides. Having watched a friend with speedplays clip in and out (and fall just as much as I did), I'm glad I got the eggbeaters. They aren't as difficult as I had thought they would be, but I still love to whine about the adjustment to clipless. I was lurking on this board earlier and got some great advice about clipping in and out.

The Egg Beaters are great for anyone new to clipless.
I have them on my commuter and alternate between Look PP337 and Speedplay Zero on my road bike.
You should enjoy the Fuji. Great bike.
