Hi there,
I am originally from India, so have been pretty much biking since the age of 5, biked to school all my life and always dreamed of driving a car . Here I am in ROD and biking again. India I mostly had the singlespeed bikes and once got a flying pigeon from a italian tourist

After coming to the US I had a mongoos Ar---- from walmart which turned out not bad except when I really rode it the bottom bracket frooze yesterday (after 4 summers) so went to the local LBS and after considerable thought picked up a 2004 Giant cypress LX with Disk brakes. Well will keep you updated and hope to meet some of you soon

Well It seems that is what the residents of davis like to call it. It has its own set of laws in addition to the state and federal laws. if you google "life in Davis, CA" you will get some more info about it. But I must admit it is a very bicycle friendly town bike paths all over the town etc.. but you can also get a ticket if you don't stop at a stop sign on your bike and there is a cycle cops who will also give you a BUI (biking under the influence). Your bike can also get impunded if you don't register it.

I live in Sacramento but my daughter is a sophomore at UC Davis - and yes - it is a republic and includes the good, the bad and the uglier aspects of being so.

Welcome Sheroo,
I went to school with a guy named Davis. Always thought he was the kind of guy who'd try to start his own country some day, lost track of him about 35 years ago .............I'm just speculating though.

Welcome, Sheroo! I got my JD at King Hall in '93 and really enjoyed living in Davis. Good riding there.

I'm usually up in Davis for that one special day in April. This year I brought my bike, along with the trumpet I normally bring, and had a blast.
