Introduction From Central CA
Hello, I am new to posting here but have read the forum on and off for several years.
I have been riding and running for several years, originally in central Michigan, then Dallas, now recently here in central California. My first road bike was a 2004 Specialized Allez, I loved that bike and used it mainly for exercise but also did several centuries on it. The only thing I ever had to do to that bike was replace the tires once I moved to Texas since the roads there ate them up!
I quickly learned that central CA is a different world since my bike and my car were stolen within 6 months of each other. I have spent the last year or so recovering from a health issue and have been unable to ride but just recently used my insurance payout to buy a new one. My Ribble CX5 just arrived in the mail on Sat (full carbon, 105 groupset, hydraulic disc brakes). It was one of those awesome situations where I had $ that I had to spend on replacing my bike or lose it and the Ribble bike builder website is awesome. I chose a CX since I want to try some of the trails here as well and I am out of the century business for the foreseeable future, but this bike is going to be my physical therapy. :-)

Stay safe and be vigilant. Crime will only get worse in CA. Tons of gangs, drug trafficking, home robberies, car theft, etc. Take all practical precautions.
