Hi from Chapel Hill
Hi everybody,
I just wanted to introduce myself before I started posting all over the place. Let's see...
My name is Emily (Em), I'm 24, I just finished my Masters in Exercise Physiology....
I started riding when I was 5, living in Claremont, CA. My first bike was a little blue Panasonic that is still in the garage at my parents house - I told them they aren't allowed to give it away, I want it! After my family moved back to PA, my first 10-speed was a Schwinn, then I moved on to a Trek hybrid and then my Cannondale MTB which I still have. Most recently, I got a Specialized Allez Sport, and I became a roadie with the first ride - I love it!
I have pretty extensive knowledge about exercise training and nutrition, thanks to my undergrad and grad degrees, but I find that I have a lot of cycling specific questions, even though I understand the principles behind training in general. I'm really excited about making cycling an even bigger part of my life as I move on to the "adult" phase...I'm already looking forward to sharing this with my children (and grandchildren, hopefully) as they grow up and making exercise as big of a part of their lives as it is for me.
Ok, I've rambled enough. It's nice to meet everyone!
