Hello from S.E. Texas!
Greetings everybody! I am attempting a return to the bicycling world. I bought a new Specialized Sport four years ago, rode it about a half a dozen times and parked it in the garage. Having recently experienced the wrath of Hurricane Harvey and not being able to go to work I took the bike out for a 3 mile spin and felt like I've been re-introduced to an old friend. It certainly felt good being able to cruise down the highway and get reacquainted with this hybrid and recall why I bought it in the first place. It has hardly any signs of use and is in like new condition, so everything seems to be operating as it should.
Hopefully I can stick with it this time and fully enjoy this sport as it is meant to be!
Thank you for this forum!

Welcome back to your bike and Bikeforums. Good to hear Harvey had one positive effect. From a fellow Harvey survivor in Kingwood, TX.

Thank you!
I appreciate the welcome, guys! I apologize for omitting details. My bike is the Sirrus Sport, 2013 model.
I remember that when it arrived at my LBS, the forks had been damaged in shipment. Graciously, Specialized sent replacement forks that were actually carbon upgrades.
I took it out for another ride today in areas that were barricaded from vehicular traffic in order to survey a friends apartment. About a five mile trip today. I know not much at all, but for me it was a leap.
Texbiker, did you have any damage? We were very fortunate. No damage and no loss of utilities.
Thanks again.

No damage physically but the mental hurt watching everyone suffer was tough.
