I guess I should follow the rules and post here.

I'm a full time non-traditional (read: old) college student, and also hold down a soul-killing full time job. I ride a fixed Surly Crosscheck (42x14) all around Phoenix and Tempe, Arizona. Yes, it's bloody hot here, but whatever. The so-called fixed craze hasn't yet reached Phoenix; I only know one other regular fixed rider, and only as an acquaintance, but I've seen other fixed bikes around (notably outside Casey Moore's pub night before last), so I know you're out there. We should go dodge traffic together or something. Preferably after (while?) having a pint or two.

You might try heading down to Tucson sometime. I think there're some folks who're into fixies that hang out around BICAS and at Ordinary Bikes.

Hey anarchocyclist! Just ran across this post, I'm riding fixed in Phoenix, but haven't had much time to bike since I've moved back due to a serious virus that's been killing me for 3 months. Doctors have no clue what I have, but I think I'm getting better, so once I'm recuperated we should ride!

Sounds like the two of you might have BICAS weld up a track tandem. The Tucson I remember (1981) was kinda flat. Anyone ever do the El Tour De Tucson on a fixie?
