Hello! I've been reading this forum for a few months, but I finally decided to join yesterday. There is a lot of good stuff here - information and people.
I'm 33, and I've been biking since I was very young. I discovered mountain biking when I was a teenager, and loved the versatility of a MTB. I ride for fun, fitness, and adventure. I've been in the Cincinnati area for a couple years, but just discovered all of the MTB trails nearby. I still dream of moving somewhere that outdoor life, especially biking is more part of the culture. Colorado comes to mind. I drooled over the trails while vacationing there.
I hope to continually improve my skills (reading this forum has helped, really!), and maybe find some people who wouldn't mind riding with someone still pretty new to anything more than basic trail riding.
Hey Buzzwire! With the number of MTBs being sold out of the shops around here you would think it would be promoted more around here. I haven't ridden offroad in years, but asking around the bike shops is always a good idea. If they don't have a group that rides regularly they should be able to tell you how to contact some.
Back in the day, well back in MY day, Cave Run Lake in KY was a good place to ride.
