Greetings from an Old Gal in FLA
What a great forum! Lots of useful information.
My bike is a Trek 7500FX (will arrive in a couple of days). I'm an old biker from way back who has slacked off for about 15 years. Got into sailing and didn't bike much.
So, am back to my first love - biking. I've ridden the Blue Ridge Parkway (1990), the Natchez Trace Parkway(1989), C & O Towpath (alone and camping) as well as taken a few organized tours. I started biking again about 3 months ago as a way to loose weight and am up to an hour a day and two hours on Sundays. Short term goal is 20 miles daily and a 40-50 miler on Sundays.
Went to the LBS and tried out a Trek 1000C and the 7500FX. At this stage of my biking comeback, the 7500FX was definitely the way to go. I had purchase a Trek Naviagtor and it didn't take long to decide I wanted a faster bike. (Lost 30 pounds on the Navigator - have challenged myself to loose 50 on the 7500FX and then... I can buy the bike I really want - a Trek 530.)
Just wanted to say hi and if there are other old gals on this forum, what say we start an Over 50 (gals) thread!
