Welcome to the forum. I hope you don't rush to buy a bike. I would try to ride everything you can so that you can make a good choice on a new bike the first time. Many people start out with a comfort/hybrid type of bike and then realize that they really want a road bike or a mountain bike. You may end up with a garage full of different models. My wife has a hybrid and a mountain bike. I have a hybrid, a mountain bike, a road bike and a touring bike. And, from time to time, I wonder about buying a recumbent as well.
