Hey from So-Cal
Hey everyone. After lurking around several cycling forums, I decided I liked BikeForums!
I'm from San Diego, CA, USA. I ride a Pinarello Montello road bike that I just bought recently. It's my first road bike and it's pure bliss to ride! Prior to this bike I tooled around on an '80s Torker BMX and a '60s Schwinn Sting-Ray.
I've been riding for about 15y (off and on). I used to ride daily in high school; typical American story of car-obsession taking over bike-love around the teenage years.
The new[-to-me] road bike is making me forget all about my cursed automobile...

Welcome to BikeForums!
The Pinarello is quite an upgrade for you!
Will you be commuting by bike, riding with a group, or just riding?

Thanks JavaMan, yeah the Pinarello is a completely different animal compared to my previous bikes!
Right now I'm riding solo after work. Mainly on low-traffic streets, until I get used to the handling of my bike. I will be commuting daily by bike as soon as I feel confident enough in my skill and fitness level (give me a month, tops).
My brother plans to join me on rides as soon as he gets a bike.
