Hello All,
I've been doing some searches here on the Bike Forum and what a cool and very informative place this is ! ...I just turned 50 last week ( on the 20th ) and have also been recently bitten by the bike bug ...I've lost 32 pounds over the past fours months pedaling ( and a little dieting as well ) an early 80's Schwinn Continental that I bought at a local yard sale for $10 ..it's actually in great shape but I now want to move up to a much better road bike ...I do have to say the 2000 model Trek 5200's have really caught my eye on ebay ..besides my new road hobby I'm also into 1950's and 60's vintage Gibson and Fender electric guitars...
Best Regards,
Gary

Congratulations on the weight loss! It's inspiring for someone like me who thinks maybe bicycling will finally be the way to lose - since it's enjoyable and addictive enough for me to actually stick with!

...thanks very much for the replies and I apologize for not getting back sooner ...I just bought a new 2005 Trek 1500 this past week and have really been enjoying it ...there's no comparison to the ole 32 pound Schwinn ...the Schwinn did serve it's purpose though and sparked my interest to ride more and acquire a better bike. ...yeah, if I can lose weight anybody with some determination can as well
