U.S. Army Sergeant Beginning Adventure In Road Biking

Hello everyon, I am a Sgt. in the U.S. Army. I am due to return home sometime in November. I did an Adventure race before we got deployed and now i'm hooked. I learned from Active.com about the team in trainning org. I really like the idea of not only doing endurance races for myself but helping others at the same time seems much better. My goal is to do a Marathon, a Century and finally a Tri. I have begun my training here at the camp. I told my mother about my plans and she has offered to buy me my road bike, unfortunitly I know very little about them. I am trying to use this time to do research and learn from others about the bikes and components so that when I get home I can start on my new racing career. Hope to read good things and get great insight from all of you.
