I paced a guy on the Gateway trail. He was a long distance, racer type, doing his training. I paced him for about 10 miles at an average of 20.5 mph. I was riding a 21 inch Stumpjumper frame with 2.5" wide tires. Not only do mountain bikes cover ground just as efficiently, but they're able to go on trails, making touring bikes seem obsolete.

One of my good friends told me that I probably sleep with my bike. I didn't know how he was trying to make me feel, but it didn't offend me. My bike definately stays in the house with me.

Sometimes when I am touring long distance with a group and I don't like the set up for keeping bikes safe, I put my bike in my tent....It's safe with me. I hope!
