Hello,
I always find posting an introduction a challenging task. OK, here are the basic details. I live in Sonoma, CA and I've been riding off and on for years starting in high school in the late 1970s, commuted on a bike during undergrad and grad school, but didn't really start riding until I moved to CA in 1995. Living in Petaluma, I got introduced to mountain biking and that's when I got my Salsa al la Carte -- love that bike. The road riding, heading West out of Petaluma, was pretty great, too.
I got married and moved to Sonoma in 2000 and the mountain biking started to drop off. My road bike got old and heavy and I started doing short road loops with my mtn bike. Then last year, I bought a Specialized S-Works which renewed my interest in riding again.
Recovering from shoulder surgery I've been riding on the road as much as I can and when I tried to find organized rides and riding partners in Sonoma, I found out that Sonoma "was too small." So, I created a new web forum for cyclists in the Sonoma Valley (https://www.SonomaValleyCyclists.org) to try to connect riders to each other.
I'm doing my first metric century in October -- the Ride to defeat ALS in Yountville.
I guess that's enough about me.
Oh yeah, I have an adorable black labrador and very cool tuxedo cat.
