Hello from way up north

Just a quick intro. My name is Randy, I currently live in the interior of Alaska (Fairbanks area). Luckily I am leaving here in 3 weeks to head down to Mississippi as the riding season here comes to an abrupt end. I work in the weather field (hence the name) in the Air Force. I got a MB about 5 years ago and haven' gotten to use it as much as I would have liked. For the last 3 years, it has become just an alternative mode of transportation for nice sunny days. When I get to Mississippi, I plan on taking the plunge into road cycling. For the last 3 years here in AK, I have relied heavily on the net to find information so that's where I turned for info on road bikes. Luckily I found this site and the rest is history. you guys will probably see the annoying "newbie" questions coming from me, please be patient!
