    Hello All

I'm 26 and have been biking since '98 when a friend talked me into getting a bike. My first bike was a Gary Fisher Joshua that weighed 30+ pounds, but I've since built this:

    Gary Fisher SuperCaliber frame (1361g)
    RockShox SID SL fork (1361g)
    Chris King Headset (114g)
    Control Tech Smart Stem (155g)
    Titec 118 Titanium Handlebar w/ BERT's (147g)
    Titec mag99 Magnesium bar-ends (106g)
Sram 9.0SL brake levers pr. (312g)
    Sram 9.0SL shifters w/ cables (183g)
    Specialized Computer
    Avid Mag1 brakes (298g pr.)
Selle San Marco Aspide Seat (184g)
    LP Composites seatpost (236g)
Race Face Ti bottom bracket (166g)
Race Face Turbine LP crankset (423g)
    Bebop stainless pedals (198g pr.)
    Race Face 46t chainring (94mm) (112g)
    Race Face 32t chainring (94mm) (57g)
    --no small c/r--
    crank bolts (27g)
    Shimano XT 11-32 9spd cassette (261g)
    Shimano chain (250g)
    Shimano XTR front derailleur (113g)
    Sram 9.0SL rear derailleur (186g)
Rolf Dolomite front wheel w/ butted spokes (675g)
Rolf Dolomite rear wheel w/ butted spokes (984g)
Control Tech Ti bolt-on skewers (47g pr.)
    4 brake bolts (27g)
    aluminum chainring bolts (10g)
Kenda Kozmik Lite tires (790g pr.)
Performance Lunar Lite tubes (174g pr.)
    water bottle bolts (6.35g pr.)
    Specialized Bottle Holder (40g)
    seat post clamp (31g)

    Total Bike Weight: ~20lbs.

It's light enough to keep up with most road bikes when I put some Continental Grand Prix tires on it (205gm ea, plus 63gm tubes), but it's fully capable of anything offroad. I usually ride at least 100 miles a week, mostly on the weekends, although I'd ride more if I had the time. I'm a huge weight geek, as you can probably tell, and I'm hoping to build a road bike before next spring if possible, so any suggestions on light-weight but dependable parts would be welcome

Hey Ferg, welcome to the Forums.

Sounds like you've got a nice ride there! Do you race or just really weight conscious?

Got any digital pictures of your bike?

No, I don't race, I just like knowing I have an efficient bike.

The only pics I have are Polariod, and I don't feel like scanning them right now. Besides, I don't have a host to post them anyway.

Maybe I'll get around to scanning them sometime
