Hello From Cambridge, UK

Hi,

My name's Mike and I live in Cambridge UK. I started cycling 4 years ago just to get to work since the city's really cycle friendly, and I've got more into it as time's gone on. I go out with a local MTB group at weekends and do the odd charity road ride now and again. Up to now I've always ridden ATBs but I'm thinking of getting a road bike to see what its like.

Look forward to talking to you all.

Don't get a road bike. You'll just get hooked and want to spend every waking moment cycling.

Welcome to the forums. We look forward to hearing about which kind of road bike you settle on and how you enjoy it.

Welcome to the Forums Mike.

I was the same way just doing the MTB thing. This past June I got my Roadbike. You said you do some Charity rides, Well go buy that roadbike and you will not look back, You'll be looking for more and more group rides to do and Like MC said "You Will get Hooked"
Don't hesitate to ask questions to the group when you start looking for a bike, a lot of great advice out here.
Looking forward to seeing your Posts in the forum.
Cheers...

Hi Mike! Welcome

like Mediacreations stated, once you aquire a road bike, you just end up wanting to ride, ride, ride .
Its completey addictive, measuring your increase in speed, measuring your increase in distance, weighing yourself, watching the leg power increase , the list just goes on.

So beware

Regards Willi`c

Thanks for the warnings but I don't think I need to worry too much - I'm addicted already!
