Greetings from Orlando travel fan
Hello from Florida. Love the site. Been biking since age 7, own 7 bikes(3 are foldups). I travel alot and have cycled longstuff like Munich to Budapest, South Coast England and(my fav) cities from NYC to Denver, to St Petersburg Russia, Helsinki Finland, Tallinn Estonia, London, most of Florida and many points inbetween.
I could lose a few happy pounds, but bike daily. I have had 3 back surguries. While walking isnt the pleasure it once was my bikes(often a foldup)EMPOWER me and allow me to see more and do more in my travels than most. In addition I do all local errands by bike.
My fav scenario is to take my foldup to Europe. I made a case(light plywood) that doubles as luggage/ carrier on my rear rack and also looks enough like luggage to avoid baggage charges on trains and planes. I camp a bit but am more like a hostel/B and B traveller. Europe TRAINS with biking my destinantion city is my favorite thing to do.
The bike is a 20'' wheel WORKSMAN foldup, made in NYC, chosen because it has good handlebars, 3spds and a VERY strong frame that accomodates a 200+ pound guy + gear.
I find this site to be a breath of fresh air. Actual cyclists, many of whom are car-less. Very cool! Feel free to email me if travel is your obsession.

Hello there,
I am in Orlando myself (metroWest area) and recently (about 1.5 year ago) became a folding bike enthusiast. My girlfriend and I have both Giant Halfways.
I used to be a sponsored adventure racer from 2000 to 2003 (short races, 8-24 hours) but now I am a graduate student and having a folder is a convenience. I take it to campus and once there, don't need to drive from one building to the other or to the Library (I am studying in Tampa, commuting 3 times a week).
We are traveling to South America (2 states in Brazil) and we are planning on taking our folders with us. Would be nice to share some experiences with you prior to out trip. I am also trying to get some support from local Bike Shops that may take advantage of the situation to promote folders in Central Florida.
Please feel free to drop me an e-mail, rcguerra@gmail.com
Hope to hear from you and welcome to this community.
Rafael

Thank you for your e-mail Mike.
I checked the website, some really nice pictures and tips there. Did you take you folder to most/all of those trips?
I would love to hear about things you learned from taking your bike with you. As I mentioned before, I am strongly considering our folders with us, but I am affraid it will be more of a hasle than fun. Where I am going, they do have bikes for rent...
Once again, thank you for your e-mail letter and web site link.
