land of the long white cloud
hi, i live New Zealand (Tauranga) im 55yrs old & ride 200kms+ a week(ive only been abel to confirm this recently as my kids bought me a bike computer for my b/day !!) most of this is commuting to work & back. i work shifts so i ride a lot at night, im begining to think ill soon need a red lined black cape to ride in!!. i have a# of different routes home of varing lengths, depending on how knackered i am. I ride an ageing (like me) Avanti sprint road bike. i enjoy re-buiding old &/or well worn bikes & passing them on to people to start them off or put off cycling. My family think im nuts riding my bike to work in all weathers, i suspect they,r right! Im ok with bikes but hopeless with computers so i get it wrong quite a lot, bear with me !!

Welcome to the forum, greywolf!! We need all the crazy commuters we can get!!
I commute about 270 km a week and do some other riding when I can. It's getting dark early now, that cuts down on the fun riding stuff!! How's springtime in New Zealand?

Welcome. There are a number of us who are 55 or greater, including up to 70 (and maybe even more). I am 63.
Sometimes we tend to get sort of ignored by the younger folks who think that those 55 and over all fit in the same pot.
I don't let them get away with that, though.
Congrats on your commuting. Wish I could, but 38 miles is a bit too far
