That's my wife. I don't think she has ever riden a bike in her LIFE! but, that's okay. A guy has to have something to himself right? A riden wife would be annoying to me. I would rather curse and talk about chix to the other riders and be gross.
If I don't end up liking Michigan all that much. I could see myself moving back to toronto. I have a place to stay anytime to get me on my feet with a relative right near young street.

Nice photo Steele,
Here's a photo to prove that Britain can have nice weather (occasionally!! ).
It's me, my girlfriend (on the left), her brother, and his girlfriend (on the right).
Cool day, but got a little sunburnt...if you can believe that in Britain
Rich

Hi everyone!
I'm HillaryRose. I'm from just outside of Chicago (so close that I can catch an el train a few blocks from my house, but not actually in the city limits). I just turned 30 at the beginning of june. I feel so old! I've been married for about 6.5 years.
Only one bike here, a trek 720 multitrack, about 5 years old. I'd like to upgrade to something better, but no money for that right now. No kids, but a house full of pets including a neurotic Keeshond with chronic kidney failure, three spoiled rotten cats and a cranky quaker parrot.
Besides biking 100+ miles a week, I'm an artist, making masks and doing photo-transfer quilting. I also play around writing science-fiction, though too chicken to submit anything for publication. Other interests include gardening, gourmet cooking (spent a while in culinary school before I decided that chef-ing wasn't for me), knitting and teaching myself to play the ukelele. I also play mah jong.

Hello from Japan,
Im 26, living in Japan in the military. I will be here for another 2 1/2 years. I love it here and plan on staying after im finished. I have so many tours planned in the next couple years. My first is going to be a 1500km trip to the southwestern tip of Japan. Gonna be a pretty good haul. Im so anxious to leave though. Its gonna be a great time. After the trip im going to throw up a site of my "happenings" along the way, should be interesting.
The forum is a great place to find anything you need to know about our two wheeled friend. I think its best to get the first hand experiences rather than just read a magazin and hear the critics. Keep posting guys.

A pleasure to hear from HillaryRose and TokyoCory this cool (can you believe it? but not for long!) Fourth of July morning in Kansas City!
Hillary, go ahead and submit your MS if you think it might be publishable--rejection is no worse than falling off your bike! (It just hurts in a different place. ) Any plan to commute by bike?
TokyoCory, I look forward to seeing some of your photos from touring in Japan. But in the meantime, keep us informed what's happening.

HillaryRose and TokyoCory, welcome to BikeForums. There are a lot of friendly folks here. So anytime you want to talk or need questions answered, post away.
Hillary, I agree with JonR. Submit your sci-fi manuscripts. I enjoy reading that stuff. Maybe you'll get lucky and become a famous writer. Then I'll get to read it.
TokyoCory, what type of work will you be doing once you have finished your tour of duty?
Pictures of yourself, bikes, family, travels, etc. are always welcome.
Ron

Mike,
I'm not too sure who I'd rather play footie with, a Turkey, or a Pig with a Radio Antenna...both of them sounds like a scarey prospect...

rejection hurts no worse than falling off your bike? Oh, don't say that. I _hate_ falling off my bike! The worst sensation, if you ask me, is that split second when you realize that your wheels are going one way and that you're going another and there's not a darn thing you can do about it and in about 2.5 milliseconds, you'll be flying through the air utterly in thrall to the forces of inertia and gravity. I saw a sticker once that said, "if you don't crash, you're not riding hard enough." My theory- "if you don't crash, you don't crash."

Let this be the "Never ending thread"
I'm a 33 yr old tradesman living in NE Ohio. Married to a beautiful Belgian Princess(not a REAL princess, but she could play one on TV), no kids, two dogs and two cats. Currently exploring the countryside around my new log cabin home on a Schwinn High Plains MTB and discovering the joy of long distance riding in my hilly section ot the state.
My first three bikes were stolen (including a Schwinn Stingray w/high sissy bar, how I wished I could have that one back!). After that my parents told me they'd never buy me a new bike again, so I scrounged in the trash and garage sales to keep myself going with various "Frankenstein" bikes. Until I reached 16, when most young american men's thoughts are of drag racing and drive-ins, I told my father I'd forego driving for another two years if he'd get me a new good bike...we were at the LBS so fast my head was spinning.
The rest, of course, is history. Though I've had some serious riding droughts, I've never lost my love for the two wheeler. I'm glad to have found this forum and look forward to mingling with you all in the future!

Welcome to the Forums Moose. Hope to be hearing more from you. It's a fine bunch of people here. Say hello to the Princess for me. I'm 1/4 Belgian so I guess that makes me one of her humble subjects.

Re: Belgians... When I spent a couple of months in France in 1963 (graduate student), the French students would rarely even speak to us American students, but the Belgian students were friendly and went out to eat with us, to movies, etc. Probably because the French wouldn't speak to them, either!
(Apart from the students, though, I found most French people to be perfectly friendly.)

Chris, try uploading that picture as an attachment, you cant use html / vB code with a picture on your hard drive, only you can see it
