new girl on the block

Hey all!
Im the newbie, new girl on the block, just recently found out my pure love for biking. Bought a felt s32 over the summer. I now train inside since I live in snowy NH. I absolutly love the thing, considering making my husband sleep in the garage to make room for my felt on my bed. I train on a cycleoops and just heard that it can do damage to your frame.. is that right? OK, I look forward into taking a lot of info from you guys.. duathlon season is only 4 months away!!

Welcome to the forum,

I don't really see much in the way of specifics on the CycleOpps2 on that other thread so I'll my 2 cents.

That's the trainer I have. I haven't found any evidence that the trainer does any harm. I've watched to see if there's any strange looking flex or obvious stress on the frame, and I haven't found any. I also asked a frame builder and he said not to ever worry, espceially the wy the CycleOpps clamps on the skewer.

The one thing you might want to do is use the skewer that comes with the trainer. Depending on what came with your Felt, it might not fit well in the CycleOpps. You can chew up the skewer end, especially if it's not made of metal.

I had a frame tweeked from having it on a trainer for a while. It was able to be bent back though, and now I leave the frickin wheels on it! :>

FWIW I recomend hanging the bike in the bedroom so you can look at it, but letting the boyfriend stay in the bed. While the bike is likely to get you as excited and sastified, they are really quite cold when it comes down to it.

Howdy Neighbor!

I live in southern Maine and am still riding. I commute to work (the Shipyard), usually 3 days per week this time of year (my first year commuting).

Welcome and have fun!
