I've been hanging out in the shadows for the last 6 months and have enjoyed the support and knowledge shared on this forum. I live near Hershey PA and just got back on the bike after my brother destroyed his shoulder his first day riding clipless pedals. He now rides a recumbent trike and I have inherited a slightly used supercourse from him. Nice ride, nice brother.

I've heard what amounts to be an urban legend about your town. That at the county fair each year a tank truck comes from the factory and fills the Dunk Tank with chocolate syrup. One version said 500 gallons. That celebs from all over the east coast pay hundreds to be the clown that gets dunked in the chocolate. Any truth?

I've been living here 17 years and that one is news to me. I have been accused of living in a vacuum, though.

I see that the PA State Police will be having another bike rally this coming April 29th starting and finishing in Hershey. It may cover roads you're use to, but it might also introduce you to some area's you haven't riden in. One loop goes to Fort Indiantown Gap and a second up to Mt Gretna, you can combine the two for a metric century. If you're interested check out https://www.pspmetriccentury.com/

thanks papedaler,
I have that one on the calendar already. It does cover some roads I havn't biked as of yet and I am looking forward to it. I did the Wheel of Life 50 miler last fall in Hummelstown and they got my email address on the PSP list so I was sent the info. Also started riding with Hbg bicycle club out of Briarcrest in Hershey last fall and met some nice folks on the "C" group rides. Can't wait til the rides resume in the spring.
