Anyone from Wellington, New Zealand?? :)
Hi guys,
recently emigrated to New Zealand from the UK...and just wondering if there's and Kiwi's on board? Still waiting for my Pace to join me but will be out and about as soon as it arrives if anyone fancies a pottle?

Try www.vbt.com That is for Vermont Bicycle Tours. They are recruiting for tour leaders in New Zealand and California. When you show up for the interview and testing you should meet a bunch of other cyclists. I think they said it would be in Wellington. And get paid to ride.

In the Road Cycling sub-forum there is a Kiwi thread, but I think most of those guys live around Auckland/Hamilton/Tauranga.
Where abouts in Wellington are you? I lived there for a few years and have fond memories of the place (except the weather).
When you say pottle you mean pint? They call them 'pots' in Melbourne.

Welcome Rich,
Not Kiwi myself, but am familiar with a very diff. kind of Wellington - a tiny town in S. India (!) actually - Brit military outpost. Excellent golf, old colonial lifestyle (tea plantations, great biking opps amidst rolling blue hills).
Thought you might like to know.
Enjoy.

Hi Rich.
Haven't seen you on BF much lately. I guess you've been busy moving.
How do you like NZ?
BTW: Your location (under your avatar) still says Faversham, Kent, England.

Wellington is very hilly indeed. You should let us know how cycle friendly it is.
Have you found a decent bike shop yet? I was there in September and there was a Condor cycle shop in Victoria street, just up from Manners Mall.
I think NZ is probably perfect for mountain biking.

I'll tell you what Johnny,
Wellington is the bomb...I'm drooling every time I pass a hill on the bus...just wish the container would arrive quicker than it is
About bike shops there looks like a pretty cool one on Courtney Place in Welly called Penny Farthing Cycles....my wife Karen is looking into getting an MTB...the choice now ofcourse is whether to get a brand new steed or a retro classic from ebay!?!
Cheers

I visited Penny Farthings as well I think - is that the one opposite Espressoholic?
If it is they had a pretty good range, but no top end Italian stuff as I recall which is the stuff I like to look at - even if I don't buy anything.
