Hello from Chicago
Hello bikeforums.net people!
A friend that I ride with occasionally suggested I check out this site, and it seems like a great resource for info on all things cycling. I'll probably read a lot and hopefully contribute to some discussions at some point.
I've done lots of recreational mountain biking but recently have been spending more and more time on the road. I've got a steel frame Trek mountain bike that is approaching 10 years old that I love. I've replaced or upgraded just about every part on it and have some skinny slick tires for road riding.
It's a great bike, but a bit heavy and obviously not the best choice for longer road rides, so I will hopefully be buying a road bike soon.
