Hello from Hopland

I live on the fringe of "Wine Country" in Hopland California, which is in southern Mendocino county just north of Sonoma County. Wine country without the pretentious, elitist, affectations.... Kind of a weird time here though, as myself and a bunch of others were just laid off yesterday, but we have to stay at work for the next month or so, to get the corporate severance package, and we are closed to the public soooooo, here I am registering for Bike Forums. Should have some time for the forums this next month.....

I ride to work, the goal being 10 times a month, but it has rained so much, this month yesterday was day #6. I feel like mold, wet mold......

That would be the fancy Fetzer place that was shut down according to the SR Press Democrat right?
I just read about it. Also I just touted Hopland as a cycle touring destination by posting a two day ride Santa Rosa to Hopland and return on www.2wheeltech.com I claimed that people could camp at the Real Goods place but call first. Would that be right? How about one day to Hopland, another day over the old road (with adequate tires) to Lake county, and a third day back to Santa Rosa? Our 600K Brevet goes through Hopland andover the paved road to Lake County and Davis (and return) each year. I'll wave as I go by. Is the casino hiring? The casino in Sonoma County is our 12th largest employer.

You are correct, sir

Yes, you got it.... We were downsized on Wednesday. You would go right by the place on the way from Hopland to Lakeport, quite a winding climb on 175 to Lakeport....Camping at Real Goods? I don't know, they were hit pretty hard by the flooding at New Years, but they are open, better call to see if they have camping. The casino? I don't know, I've never been inside it and don't plan to in the future, not to put it down, just not my thing. Kind of ironic for Native people, the whole casino thing?
