Hello from Upstate NY

Having just gotten my first bike (the first one that does not also belong to someone else), I am fairly new to more serious, recreational cycling. I do have a short history of running road races, including a marathon, but as it does for many people, the marathon left me wanting more, so currently I am seeking to expand my horizons to include triathalons (assuming all goes well with my training).

Ever since I watched my husband and his pals train and complete Ironman Lake Placid, I've felt compelled to do one myself. I'm praying that a seemingly fast bike and the rumored benefits of a relatively recent delivery of a child will be enough supplement my training! My bike, by the way, is a 2004 Cannondale IronMan 2000; my daughter, Hallie, is 13 months. (Of course, I do not mean to imply here that the bike is anywhere near the same level as my baby!!!)

I look forward to seeing what you all have to say about cycling!

Jessica
