    WELCOME STRANGER!!

I hope you enjoy a this forum as much as we do...as you noted it is chucked full of information on almost anything bicycle. We might be lacking in low-rider but that is about all.

I am old, big, a roadie, always right and don't mind sharing the forum with even a freestyler. Again welcome.

    Welcome!!

I am a young 63 year old who enjoys road biking and cruising around on my mtn bike.

I am not totally sure what freestyle is, but assume is has someting to do with those folks who zoom around in those bike parks with all the concrete ramps and do absolutely AMAZING things twisting and turning thenselves and their bikes in the air in all sorts of configurations.

Anyway, I doubt I will be doing any freestyle, but would invite you to do some road biking.

Started riding 6 yrs ago with a $50 3 speed. My dad,78 at the time gave me his gt with 15000 miles on it but it was the first good bike i rode.He got a R600.After a year or so i got a trek,7500 but the frame broke. While i waited for them to figure it out,i got my silkpath700,they replaced the trek with a year newer one and i sold it.I ride in the lakewood, long beach paths along the river beds.Anyone what to hook up.

    Heya Shokhead,

Yeah myself and Johnny Fausto were throwing out the idea of a SoCal group ride... I'm just getting back into riding this year so I'm not the fastest out there yet.. I avg about 16-18 mph... but it would be nice to get some BF guys and girls together for a little group ride and some food someday...

I'm 28 and live in Orange

The headwind out here has been horrible lately.. great exercise but I could barely go 13Mph for a couple miles last week.

You riding along the San Gabriel river? I normaly go along the Santa Ana river, but hit that path sometimes.

It's hard to tell sometimes I swear no matter which direction I go lately it feels like I'm hitting a headwind or a bad side wind.

I used to ride the San Gabriel trail when I was in High School.. if you leave before 9am toward the beach, the wind is either none, or at your back, and if you leave the beach coming back after about 1pm the wind will be at your back... any earlier and it is headwind city baby !

    Jeff

p.s. what the heck is ppm ?

ahhhh ok... I was thinking it was something like that.. but i'm used to RPM, not PPM... all good... wow.. that is a high cadence.. I think I'm somewhere around 85-90 most of the time.. just a guess though.. no cadence checker on my bike
