I am a 46-year old recreational road cyclist from Central Pennsylvania. I have been riding bicycles since about 1989 (not counting my "ten-speed" during my high school years). I started out with a Jamis chrome-moly steel mountain bike, then a Cannondale aluminum mountain bike, until I discovered the lighter weight, speed, and pure joy of putting miles behind me on a road bike. My first road bike was a 1991 Trek 1400, which I still own. I just purchased a Klein Reve last year, but I had problems with "stiction" in the elastomer rear suspension. Trek (who owns Klein) finally warranteed the frame and allowed me to pay extra for a Klein Q-Pro frame. I just received this Q-Pro, and the frame is fantastic.
I used to ride a lot more (200 + or - miles per week) in the early nineties when I was stronger, lighter, and without three small children. Now I fit in my riding when I can. Instead of 80 to 100 mile rides on the weekend, I only ride 30 to 40. But I still have fun regardless of the low mileage. If there is anyone in the Clearfield, Pennsylvania area who likes to go for relatively short rides for fun, maybe we can get a group ride together on the weekends. There is another rider my age and close to my riding level that I usually hook up with during the summer...so that makes two of us.
