Hello everyone i am new to the forum and new to commuter via bike anyways i live in Oceanside ca now but i have only been here for about 3 months due to a delay in the shipping of my car from south Carolina (yes i moved from one coast to another) i found that my seven mile ride to work on the bus was time consuming (i get there faster on my bike hahaha)and did not fit my schedule always so i bought a bike lol not really a bike a pos from walmart within days i was sure this could not be the only solution to my transportation needs so on my way to return the bike i drove right by a LBS now that's what I'm talking about to make a long story short i bought a road bike and now have been riding every day oh yea did i mention i am OCD(google it) have spent more on bike accessories that the bike cost (not really but u know)so here i am ready to take on the world with my new SCHWINN haha just watch me

Yeah,

I bought a bike from a department store, and rode it a total of 5 miles, maybe. Thought I was over the hill (I was still in my 20's). Didn't ride for 10 years. Then I bought a used Schwinn LeTour, maybe 10 years old. I am now 47, and her and I are still growing old together. But she is showing her age. I haven't kept her up. But I can commisserate about the department store bike.
