My name is Anthony Siracusa, and I direct Revolutions Community Bicycle Shop in Memphis, TN. Revolutions is a Recycle-A-Bike facility with an emphasis on teenage vocational training. We have a Mechanical Apprenticeship program that is structured around mechanical education, mentoring, life skill development, and workforce training. Founded in 2002, Revolutions has helped more than 500 Memphians build up donated used bicycles for transportation and recreation. Our fleet of volunteers has been particularly dedicated to the young people in our neighborhood, helping more than 25 of them earn bikes by breaking down bicycles for parts, sweeping floors, sorting spokes or helping out with small repairs.
I have been working as a bicycle mechanic since 1999, and have been interested in community bike programs for about the last five years. I built up my first fixed gear a couple of years ago, and have become particularly interested in old component companies like Suntour and Sunrace. If anyone knows about a particular forum on this site for that kind of info, I'd like a link.
Thanks
Anthony Siracusa

Welcome Anthony and good luck with the project.
You might want to hang out in the Bicycle Mechanics forum and the Classic & Vintage forum.

Hat's off to you, Anthony. Programs like yours are a lasting benefit to a community, in terms of both helping the locals and being accessible to people who want to learn a life skill or perhaps a vocation.
Welcome!
