Just figured I'd introduce myself to those that read these...I'm a computer science major at UNL. I was a pretty competitive XC and distance track runner in high school. I've been following the Tour for 8 years, ever since Lance's comeback. I decided to start doing triathlons this summer, and I've been successful in the running and swimming, but not in the cycling, and I'm thinking that's because I have an old, crappy Pacific mountain bike that simply cannot compete with everyone else that has a road or triathlon bike. My knowledge of bikes and cycling is pretty limited, so I joined to learn more and get advice on buying a new or used road bike. And that's about it.

Welcome- youll learn plenty here. We get kind of 'holier than thou' about bikes sometimes, so take it with a grain of salt.

The first rule of flats is You don't talk about flats!
