unique disscussions
I'm looking forward for conversations I don't normally have with most of the people I know.
I'm the only one in my circle that rides and no one seems to relate to my experiences.
My experience on the bike? The usual kid ones, for 10 years, riding in the spring and summer to get around. As an adult, riding for 18 more (since '85) all year 'round to commute and week-end fun rides for stress relief (managing to put in over 100,000 kms.) I did 4 years with the local chapter of the randonuers (plus I'm a lousy speller)
I'm (soon to be) 43 and have a son in University and a daughter wwho will soon graduate. My wife and I have lived together since '78 and been married since '80. My wife and kids don't ride.

If you let people know where you are there's a good chance you'll find people to ride with. Welcome to the forums!

I don't mind the solitude of riding alone. I have taken rides with others but with time commitments leaving me to ride at different times, and a differences in abilities, riding alone isn't too bad.
It's the mindset of cycling that I miss out on. To have experience on the saddle helps understand concerns. Even the local cycling commitees from the municipalities here don't ride, so if there is a problem with some infrustructure they don't understand because they don't ride.

Welcome to Bike Forums, Closet Biker!
I've been a member for only a short time....there is lots of good information here, and it's a good group of folks.
Have you tried to find a local cycle club in your area? You will find riding companions, no doubt. It took me a couple of years to find a group of folks.
Welcome Again!

Thanks. It looks good so far.
I have a lot of knowledge of who does what in my area, it's just that everyone is spread out and, on the computer, everyone can be in my living room at once. A short read before work gives me something to think about all day.

You should see if there is some way for you to get some rider input into your local cycling committees. They often will use volunteers, if you are able. They generally do what they do out of ignorance.

Welcome to BikeForums.
Sounds like you should expand your circle.
Are you sure you don't live in Atlanta? We have the same problem here.
