Greetings from the High Desert in California....

Although new to this forum, not so new to road and indoor riding. I've been taking and teaching indoor cycling (spinning) for approximately 8 years, and decided last year to feel the wind in my face. I bought a KHS Flite 300 as an intro bike and trained for my first Century (Lake Tahoe) through Team in Training for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. While training I met some of the most amazing people and became intrigued with tandem riding. Turns out my husband was likewise intrigued and bought us a Cannondale RT3000. I just completed my second Century (Cool Breeze) and am ready to put aside my single bike for a bit and get some serious mileage under the wheels on the tandem. So far the info on your site for both single riders and tandems is wonderful and I can't wait to delve in further.

Hung up the indoor bike (so to speak) because it turns out that I am addicted to the wind in my face.

Welcome to the forums intense pedaler, I just so happen to be from california aswell. San francisco area I'm glad biking has become a positive influence in your life. I hope to be able to do some centuries some day, but I'm a mere 19 years of age and still in my lazy phase have a great day.

With a tandem you have an opportunity to take some good videos. Then use them in spinning classes.

An idea I hadn't given any thought to, but thanks it's a great suggestion. So many people have said they would try a class if there was a video; something to more simulate an actual ride. Thanks for the response.

I think if you used these videos (w/ permission of course), your spinning class would be intense.

I have gone down Cajon Pass and both sides of the I-5 Grapevine on bikes. Play that at realtime for a spinning class and watch them try to keep up
