Hello from Kittery Point ME

Hi All,
I've been an on-again, off-again cyclist whose primary activities are mountaineering, rock climbing, hiking, kayaking and in-line skating. A recent shoulder injury (60 year-old, high mileage shoulder) has made me give up a couple of these and I have taken to riding my old, but beloved Bridgestone as a supplement. I've really enjoyed my recent rides and am on a crash vector with a new bike purchase, most likely a Giant OCR Comp of some kind.
I've lurked for a while on the Forum and it has been most helpful. I hope to pitch in.

Welcome rickbb! The best way to pitch in is to post pics of your bike when you get it. Bike p0rn is always appreciated!

Hi,
which Bridgestone do you have? Long time ago I rode a XO2 and this summer bought a T700 to use as a commuter.

Thanks for the greeting, all! I have a Trek Pilot 5.0 calling me (I'm old) and I'm losing the battle. My Bridgestone is at my GF's and I'll check on the model. Probably mid-80's, $600 at that time. It's a nice frame but these new rides of/with carbon are too alluring...

Are you from near Kittery in Maine? I visited there last year and bought some shirts at one of the many outlet stores.

I'm on the shore, a few miles from the dreaded (by locals) outlets.

Hi again,
I came up with a ride recently you might like. You park at the Post Office by the bridge in Kezar Falls. Or is that the Hiram side? Take Rte 160 to Center Conway Rd.
Have lunch or a coffee in Conway. The come back on Rte 153 to the Andews Hill Rd which takes you through Freedom. It's about 50 miles and very hilly, and very pretty and I am looking forward to riding it when the leaves turn.

Maybe we could do a group ride on it in the Fall? Any takers?

I crossed there as well. Not really set up for pedestrians I think.

Well, I got the new bike. A new '05 Trek Pilot 5.0. Just took my first (short) ride (first time with clipless pedals, too) and it is so much faster than what I am used to that I have to rethink my rides. It felt a little twitchy but I'm sure I will get used to it soon enough.
