Hello from northern Virginia

I found the bikeforums.net while searching on information on clipless pedals. I started riding clipless today without any problem--no falls, just a little trouble getting clipped in when starting.

I live in Alexandria, VA and commute by bike into DC three or four days a week. After getting tired of the crowds on Metro, I decided to try bike commuting. My ride begins on neighborhood streets to the Four Mile Run Trail, then connects with the Mt. Vernon Trail along the Potomac, crosses the bike path on the 14th Street Bridge, then past the Jefferson Memorial, down the National Mall, and up and over the Capitol Hill. I can't think of a more scenic commute.

I have also commuted from Alexandria to Tysons Corner a few times when I worked out that way. I wouldn't recommend it, but it is possible and not as bad as you might think.

Well, that is about it about me. I'm in the process of getting back into mountain biking and plan to buy a new bike in the next few weeks.

Hello and welcome. I must ask, what is the meaning of your username? Are you a deer hunter? A fan of Chuck Buck's knives perhaps?

It is just a nickname my friends gave me. It is more of a play on rap artists' names like 50 cent and a wine by Charles Shaw vineyards (see below). I'm not familiar with Chuck Buck's knives.

Two Buck Chuck is also the name a wine by Charles Shaw Vineyards that sells for $1.99, hence the name Two Buck Chuck. In Virginia they sell for around $3. It's not bad for the price. Check out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two_buck_chuck for more info. I really don't drink the stuff, but it isn't bad for the price.

I use the name in my geocaching.com profile as well, so it has sort of stuck.
