Guerilla Commuter
Hi Ya'll I commute (18 mi round trip) in one of the most dangerous citys for bicycles, Tampa, Fl. That's right, I am a bad dude. Just yesterday I had to push a car back into it's lane with my foot, spray gatorade in a vicious dogs face and ring my bell repeatedly and as loud as I could at an old Latina, who just was not paying attention. Seriously, it can be harsh riding in any city in the U.S. Most drivers are oblivious to bikes. Thats why I am a guerilla commuter, battling the oil sucking beasts with my trusty steed.
P.S. I have got a wild hair(or is it hare?) to do a century. Thats how I found this forum, looking for tips on how to train. Thanks

Wow, that stinks. What part of Tampa are you riding through? I haven't had too many issues on my recreational rides, but I mostly stick to S. Tampa. I guess it depends on the time of day too.
