Hello fellow cyclists,
First I'd like to say how nice this forum is and I am looking forward to the fellowship.
I have been cycling now for about 10 years, mainly off road. When I moved down the shore I traded the mountains for the flats and the sand so turning roadie was the logical choice. The last two have been exclusively road. I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do. I ride on average 20 to 25 miles 3 or 4 times a week. If time allows I'll go a far as 40 to 45 miles.
I turned 40 last March and decided it was now or never with regard to what direction I was going to take my health and physical well being. I believe I made the right choice. I am in better shape today than I was 10 years ago!
I am 6'1 210 lbs which I guess makes me a Clydesdale. If I drop below 200 lbs do I loose this classification?
I just upgraded to a 60cm 06 Trek Madone 5.9 from a Trek 2300 aluminum frame. WOW what a difference. Carbon is king!
I generally ride alone with the exception of an occasional ride with a good friend. I currently do not have a club affiliation. I am going to take my first century ride this Sept. 30. I fear I am in for a rude awakening . Wish me luck.
