Starting out, Boston Ma
 

Hello everyone,
Went biking for the first time today at Blue Hills in Canton ma, AND i had a great time except for the 1000ft climb to the top via access road. Realized I need to work on the conditioning, 1st run went down a walking path which was easier terrain with some tough spots and the secong time went down the ski trail which was fun. Used my brothers mongoose full suspension bike its about 6years old seemed very nice but i have not to compare it to,
I wanna spend about 800-1000 on a bike whats my best bet, I have never biked before but before this I have been riding atvs and dirtbikes on average of 2-3 times a month for as long as i can remeber. But as in dirt bikes to motorcycles U cant expect to be able to ride a street motorcycle just becuase you can ride a dirtbike there are major diffrence....im sure that the same applies with mountain bikes(seems like there is alot of danger due the amount exposed rocks and bouldes) but im sure my offroad expierance will help.
Well any tips on bikes and general riding will be greatly appreciated
