Jersey Girl to Eurpean lass
I took up bike riding at aged 53, packed up my bike at aged 54 and flew to Europe to do a summer bike tour. Four years later and some 6000 miles along the rivers, hills and paths of Germany and other European countries, I am still having the greatest adventure of my life with Bernd, my biking partner and teacher for unltra light camping.
I was a girl from New Jersey, moved to the mountains of Virginia to raise my sons and then, through various circumstances, wound up in need of a new direction in life. I took the new road that lay before me without regrets.

Hiya Barbi... I was in Heidelberg in June... what a great location you have chosen... it's a beautiful part of the world... I am originally from the Wertheim area... now living in New York... I miss Germany already... my Mom lives in Marktheidenfeld, but I don't get to see her as often as I would like.
Congratulations on living the life of your choice and following your bliss.
I was looking over your website and realized we were in Frankfurt on the same day in June... those English fans were a bit rowdy and loud... but mostly just having a good time and getting drunk, LOL

Maybe we'll see each other passing by on a Heidelberg or Kraichgau road (which is my favorite training place, I live 15 km south of HD).
I will check your 50+ postings, you can do so with mine . If you read my homepage: I'm about to build a new one which is about the french Alps. It takes one more month...

Hi, HeidelbergBarbi! I have a good friend in Neckargemünd. Very beautiful, and I'd love to be able to afford a home along the Neckar. Maybe next time I visit her and her family, we can hook up for a ride! How easy, non-damaging, and secure is it to transport (really nice) road bikes on the trains? I've traveled quite a bit in Europe, but never paid attention at the time, though I recall seeing some beaters between the cars.... I plan to buy a good bike eventually in Vienna, where I have an apartment, and perhaps take it with me when I visit friends in other parts of Europe. Otherwise, just plan to do some riding along the Danube.
