Hi all,
I used to ride a lot in England, where I'm originally from. Moved to the US in 1999 as my wife, who is from San Diego was homesick, how could I refuse? Anywho, 7 years later and recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes I thought it was about time to get a bike once again.
I bought a Raleigh Mojave 4.0 2007 model last week and already my glucose levels have dropped dramatically after riding for 30 minutes a day. I plan on building up to more lengthy rides to take advantage of the wonderful San Diego weather and scenery.
I appreciate the information/advice I've found so far lurking on the site and look forward to participating more. A big HELLO to anyone in San Diego / El cajon!!

Hello Peasap!
If you've been lurking, then you already know about the very active SoCal regional forum and perhaps the Clydesdales forum? I would bet that you have already checked out Tom Stormecrowe's links in his signature. If not, the links are very useful.
If you get any classic or vintage bikes, stop by and see us too here:

Where are you from in England? As you can see by my signature, I am from Lancashire--Swinton, to be exact.
Welcome to BF!

Thanks for the info East. I have indeed checked out the Clydesdales. As for England, it's funny you should ask as I'm from Blackburn lancs!!

As you've been lurking you probably already know that there are a couple of active Brits in the 50+ forum as well (mind you, I'm not implying anything!). I must confess that I find reading Stapfam's posts make me quite homesick myself at times and he's not even up North. But I live near to Seattle, and it's raining right now . Makes me feel at home, it does.
