    Hi

Hello, I am returning to the biking world with the goal of being more knowledgeable and consistent this time, rather than a weekend warrior. My husband and I begin training on January 2 (one day to recuperate) for the crossroads cross country ride, in May. Has anyone ever done the ride? We're thinking of doing the ride on our CannondaleR800(me) and R1000(him). Does that seem fine?
    Thanks and Hello again.

I don't know anything abpout that ride but welcome anyway. I love my R400, sharp secure handling with a smooth ride even with skinny tires on roughish paved roads. The cross country in the description makes me think this isn't a ride on paved roads, though. WHat else can you tell about the ride?

    Cross Country

Its a road ride actually. Mostly smaller roads, so they say. I hope. You can check it out at crossroadscycling.com. We didn't want to buy new bikes for it. Maybe just a good once over.

You must know if you can average 80 miles a day for successive days. Your bikes certainly can, although you may want to swap 23 mm tires to 25 mm for comfort. Some sort of mudguards would also be useful. Saddle bags will be needed to carry change of clothing when the weather changes and the support vehicle isnt near.
