Hi from Nor Cali

Hi my name's Megan and I'm new to cycling in general. I'm looking to do my first triathlon in a few months and realized I need to really start getting into some serious cycling. I don't even own a bike and I've been doing all my "cycling training" on the indoor bikes at the gym! I'm glad this forum exists, because I would be so lost otherwise! It's a little intimidating starting out, but I've been on a few rides (using a friend's bike) and I'm anxious to continue! If anyone knows of any good bike paths r good riding groups (beginner) in Northern California, let me know!

Thanks, hope you have a wonderful day!

Hi, Megan. Welcome to the Forums. What part of Nor Cal, exactly? Got a few of us from the Sacramento area and a few more in the Bay Area.

Good luck on your tri training. Got a few triathletes (self included) on the Forums too.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. Funny, because I used to live in Sac, grew up in Santa Rosa, and now live in the South Bay. I've been all around!

Hi Megan,

I grew up in Vacaville, went to school at Davis, and now I live on the peninsula.

Welcome to the bike forums. There's a lot of good info here.

Welcome to Bike Forums, Megan.

I live in the So. Bay, too. There are quite a few cyclists from the Bay Area on BF. Two good cycling clubs for beginners in the South Bay/Peninsula area are Almaden Cycle Touring Club (ACTC) and Western Wheelers.

Hope to see you on the road some day!
