NC Bike Fanatic here

Hi my name is Matt. I live in Greensboro NC. I am 28 years old and have been addicted to bikes for as long as I can remember. Most of the time I ride mountain bikes but I have been know to do a little bit of everything. I have always tinkered with mechanical things and bicycles in my opinion are the ultimate in form and function. Lately I have been rebuilding early 90's bikes that belong to my wife's friends. I got my wife a mountain bike a few years ago before we were married and subsequently created another cycling fan. Now her friends want in on the action. Fortunately rebuilding old bikes happens to be one of my favorite pastimes.

Hello Matt, did you say 'old bikes'?

Umm, have you found the Classic & Vintage forum yet?

Another howdy from CLT!

Check out the Southeast Regional Discussion forum http://www.bikeforums.net/southeast/ to look for other BF'ers in the Triad area.

And welcome to BF! Even if you are a MTB'er.

My man Matt, you live near my hometown of Asheboro. Great areas to ride there. Not to mention you have a Performance store now!

Where did you go to school? Or did you move to G'Boro?

Hey Matt. I live in Greensboro also. Welcome to the forums. I don't do much mountain biking as there isn't much of it around here, but I do a ton of road biking.

I am originally from King in Stokes County. I moved here after high school/South Stokes. I haven't spent much time in Asheboro except for trips to the zoo, but it is a really nice area. The Performance store is cool. I have bought several things from them in the past. I just wonder what the local shops think about it.

Don't think they are terribly worried about it. Cycles de Oro sells more high end bikes and Performance is more geared to the entry level biker. I will say that their clothing and component sales will probably suffer though. I think it'll hurt Paceline more.

Edit: Have you checked out REI's cycling stuff? Wow, they are proud of that stuff.... I can't affort their prices.
