Jane from New York

Hi. My name is Jane and I am from New York. I am 46 years old and enjoy bike riding and have been doing it most of my life. I grew up on Long Island on the south shore (Island Park-Oceanside) and every day in the summer I would ride my bicycle on the boardwalk in Long Beach. I am now in upstate NY and ride locally. There are more hills and mountains and it's a little harder on me. Of course getting older makes it tougher too. My goal this season is to get back into shape. I have a 20+ year old 12 speed road bike:

My twins sister, Georgette also loves riding and we usually ride together.
I had a knee injury last summer which hopefully is completely healed and I just ca't wait for all the snow to melt and for spring to come.

Jane

Those bike look like they give you and your suiswter plenty of fun. Tell her to get some pants made of stretch fabric like yours

Thanks, we do love our bikes and can't wait for the weather to get warmer. Unfortunately my sister only wears jeans.

I haven't been on this board since my last post. I have moved to Phoenix AZ in 2008 and sorry I did. Too hot out here to ride. Seems like the weather never cooperates for me. I used to ride my bike so much in the Hudson Valley in NY.

Welcome to BF and good luck with the weight and the knee! I’m wrestling the weight demon (for decades now) and had a total hip replacement just over a year ago. I’m also hoping 2014 will be a “comeback year” for me. If you’re by chance anywhere near Albany, check out -- http://www.mohawkhudsoncyclingclub.org

Bicyclegirl, I think our members in the hot states try to squeeze their
rides early in the morning or late in the day. We have the opposite
problem here in the northeast. :)
