Hi All, I'm brand new to the biking scene, but l'm thinking of riding to Lhasa,(already in S.W. China. Anybody any hints clues what to look for in buying a bike?Given that nearly all of the trip will be mountainous what sort of bike would people recomend l get?
I really don't expect the shops in China to be that helpful (though l may yet be pleasantly surprised)
so what penetrating questions should l ask?
Pleasew folk feedback,feedback,thanks all. Frank. (e-m frankboase2@yahoo.co.uk )

hello 4frank, you probably want to ask the folks in the Touring forum...

You've got some tough questions there, but I think you may be able to get some answers from the folks in the Touring forum.

Welcome to BF and good luck!
