Happy to have found this forum.
Jobs, a kid, and (ugh!) a car took me away from cycling over ten years ago. Back then, it was my only means of transport and a great source of recreation. I also had great fun maintaining and upgrading my bike. I returned to cycling for fitness reasons but have also found that I still simply love tooling around on my bike.
Currently I'm living in Greece which is a dream but its not an easy place to find the knowledge and parts to return my bike to working condition. Having sat in the basement for a decade my '93 Trek 7000 had broken shifters and the splined thingy on the freewheel hub that holds the cassette had broken. I found some cheap replacements and I'm back riding daily again.
For my next mission, I'd like to pick up some parts on my next trip to the US to upgrade my bike to a 9 speed and fix a nasty clicking caused by the crankset rubbing on the chainstay. I'll be posting to the mechanics forum and asking for some help there. I hope to get to know a few of you along the way. Are there any members from Greece?
