ID Specialized Frame

HI, new member looking to ID A Specialized Allez Epic. Serial# is GL00----. IF there is a site for this that would be great. I'm interested to find out because it looks to be an early carbon frame. It has some blemishes but they don't look too deep. Any info on what would be a problem? Enjoy the ride! CURB

Hello curbtender--a quick search reveals that this is apparently a CF frame with aluminium lugs? There is a thread on the Allez Epic already, so go if you go to Google and search for Allez Epic, you will find a BF archived thread...

Welcome to BF!

Oh, and you may wish to check in with the Northern California regional forum, we've got a lot of members in the SF Bay area.

By the way, did you make it to the NAH Bike Show today?

That was the hand-built frame show in SJ? I didn't make it. I ended up with another bike project and I'm trying to make them ridable so they are back on the street and not pressing the margins of my garage. I've turned into the "Orphan King" of bikes. Sometimes I hear the chatter of a cassette on my front porch and run out to find another abused bike laying on it's side trying to spin a few more rotations before it gets returned to storage. There is only so much I can do... Luckily my son is a messanger in the city and he raids the pile once in awhile to keep it under control. Thanks again for showing me the ropes, a little info goes a long way on the internet. It looks like it is a 92' 93' bike with the upgraded bottom bracket that cured the gluing problems. The blemishes in the surfacecoat are superficial so I can go from there. It's sure a sweet looking bike and I'm not sure yet if I'll keep it or pass it on. Take care, CURB

Glad to be we could be of help, and that you've got one of the problem-free ones! Too bad you didn't make it to the show, but there's plenty of photos in various forums so you can take a look if you're interested.
